so i'm having issues with my GBA SP. every time i put in any game, GBA or GB, it can't read it. it turns on, & it will even acknowledge if it's in GBA mode or GB mode, but it won't load the game. it also will not charge properly. i cleaned the pin connectors, it has a new battery & i tested with the old one to see if it was the battery's issue, my cartridges are all clean, i opened it up
While the Advance used the same ports as the Color, the internals of the cable are completely different. Original Game Boy and GB Color games don't recognize it. The link cable should work across both, you just have to use Pokémon that are compatible in both, since the two games you have are from different generations. They have different ports.Pokemon Blue (Game Boy, 1998) Authentic (NEW BATTERY) Tested - Saves - Working (449) 449 product ratings - Pokemon Blue (Game Boy, 1998) Authentic (NEW BATTERY) Tested - Saves - Working $79.90
pokedude7 9 years ago #2. It won't work. Not because you're using GBA SP's, but because the GBA Link Cable doesn't work with the GB/C games. So if you wish to trade between Red + Blue, use a GB/C/Universal link cable. The reason for this is: GBA link cables transfer data differently than GB/C link cables. The Child of Mercy is Peace - me.
