golf mk4 door handle replacement
The inside door handle does not open the door if the car has just been unlocked. If the outside handle has been pushed in and then pulled out as described above (to open from outside) then both handles work as normal until the car is re-locked and unlocked again (except the outside handle is still jutting out 4mm)
So the alarm kept going off on my daily Mk4 golf. I tracked it down to a dodgy passenger door latch mechanism. This is how we fixed it.We got the door lock a Remove your door pannel. I'm not going to go into detail as I'm sure it's in the mk4 faqs. three screws on the bottom, two behind the door pulls, pull and lift up. Unhook the stuff inside. Step Two Unhook the plug going to the speaker. Take your power drill and drill out the four rivets holding the OEM speaker to the door. It will pull right out.
