Jedi Academy allows you to create your own character, which is a big plus for RP'ing, even though it is an action game. I have always prefered Jedi Outcast over Academy, it was better paced and had better levels. KOTOR is the best game overall. All 3 (plus KOTOR 2) are worth the crazy $3 price. It depends on my mood.

Its very easy: first you have to open your console with SHIFT + ~ (for german Keyboard layout SHIFT + ^) then do the following, insert that step by step for FULL HD (1080x1920) r_mode -1 r_customheight 1080 r_customwidth 1920 vid_restart. ofcourse you can insert your own resolution. 8.

To do this: Open up the console (shift and ~), enable cheats (either helpusobi 1 or devmapall 1 depending on your version I guess) and type in: "Playerteam Free" (without quotes obviously) either during the cutscene (before the bugged part though) or before it while you are activating the water pumps.
First, you have to open your Jedi Academy game directory. The first file is in your "Jedi Academy" folder and it's named "JediAcademy.exe". The other two files are inside the "GameData" folder and they're called "jasp.exe" (this file launches singleplayer) and "jamp.exe" (this file launches multiplayer).

Don't launch the original Jedi Academy through steam, use must use the shortcut to openjk.x86.exe instead. After doing Method 1 or 2 you should be able to Play! Having problems with a cutscene not starting nor ending in the game. It is the cutscene at the beginning of the game after fighting the two stormtroopers + sith guy. The first cutscene actually does play where Jaiden is interrogated by Luke and Kyle. The cutscene afterwards in the Yavin Courtroom does not start.
